Successful Festomane show helps engineering and manufacturing grow in Gloucestershire

The Festomane apprenticeship and careers show at the Gloucestershire Growth Hub celebrated engineering and manufacturing opportunities in the county.

Young students, parents and teachers alike discovered what engineering and manufacturing opportunities were available in Gloucestershire with the likes of Delphi Technologies, Renishaw, GE Aviation and LB Bentley. Heber staff were on-hand to demonstrate their expertise in electronic design and manufacturing, presenting some of the technologies that have helped support UK manufacturers and innovators grow their business.

Les Ashton-Smith, Heber’s Managing Director comments, “Heber is committed to supporting young engineers which is why we were delighted to support Festomane once again”. Last year, Heber joined the ranks alongside the Royal Air Force, Airbus and Siemens with the silver level Industrial Cadets award and will be again looking to support apprenticeships and work placements this year.

Festomane, the Festival of Manufacturing and Engineering, Digital & Cyber was started in Stroud in 2012 by Neil Carmichael, Stroud’s MP at that time, together with a group of local businesses. The show was held this year at the Growth Hub, University of Gloucestershire Oxstalls Campus in Gloucester. Visitors flocked to the free-to-attend show with over 30 exhibitors and 5 workshops.
