Heber work along side the MOD Heber's products save lives

Problem

The MOD need control systems to work in the harshest environments in the world, including the ability to with stand a nuclear strike. Heber have designed and manufactured a number of control and interface boards for this eventuality. These include a range of 16KW to 40KW diesel generator controller that needed to be ‘Rad-Hard’ to survive the electromagnetic effects of a nuclear strike.

Solution

These generator control systems were deployed in crisis zones to supply essential power for emergency hospitals and equipment, it was essential for them to operate for extended periods of time in the harshest environments all over the world. Critical choice of components and extensive design verification, testing many other factors such as extreme temperature changes, vibration, shock, dust and sand along with humidity and chemicals were all major factors with the design specification.

Conclusion

These control systems have been helping to save lives since the first gulf war in 1991 and many more are in service operation today.
